An appealing scenario: Koblenz
Planning a vacation should always focus on the costs. This of course does not mean to refrain from eating well, having a good night's sleep or from any normal level of comfort. To tell you the truth, there is no need to implement drastic measures, as they will certainly ruin your vacation. A cheap vacation implies low expenditures and unparalleled good time. Backpackers should be enthralled to have seen the second most important tourist attraction; they should be appreciating low cost airlines and should download hundreds of photos that testify the good mood and the generous discounts. For most of the times a cheap vacation is more treasured than spending time at one of those high society resorts.
Planning beforehand is the key to a successful trip. For instance, choosing a remote airport is sometimes the worst idea. Whenever you are travelling to a foreign country (accessible by air) you should look for the largest airport. Most of the travelers choose Frankfurt am Main International Airport, when visiting Germany's Rhine-Main region. This is like a bee hive and chances are that you come airborne with a cheap bee flight. Buying tickets 2-3 months prior to the trip could cut down the costs considerably. Furthermore, Frankfurt's enormous train system could take you to any remote place in Germany.
There is of course no need to plunge into the unknown; Koblenz will just do the trick! You will arrive by train after having bought tickets for €4 at the ticket counter. The S-Bahn trains leave from track 3 and reach destination in 25 minutes. Weinhaus Wieghardt is a friendly place to stay for the week especially that it costs only €35 per night.
Visiting pristine vineyards that are perfectly kept will certainly impress you, even if you are not a wine connoisseur. The Alte Burg alongside the Mosel River will provide you with enough information about the 13th century architecture, but nobody prevents you from extending your personal history class: the Romanesque Liebfrauenkirche will be another appealing page of history, this time from the 15th century. Discovering the house where Beethoven's mother was born will be another free of charge tourist attraction that cannot be missed. As you see, except for the most necessary costs, everything else is free of charge.
There are of course endless possible scenarios, all that it takes is to plan everything in advance.
